OVERVIEW

The discipline offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) and Master of Technology (M.Tech.) programs. The faculty members are from diverse streams and specializations.

A broad range of career opportunities exists for instrumentation Engineers in sales, management, technical project and research and development. They can be employed in Power Plants, Steel Plants, Fertilizer Plants, Chemical Plants, Refineries, Cement Manufacturing Plants, R & D Laboratories and Defence Establishments, Power Plant, Oil & Gas Plant, Pharmaceuticals, Biomedical, etc.

 

B.TECH

The Instrumentation Technology, being an inter-disciplinary branch of engineering, is heading towards development of new & intelligent sensors, smart transducers, MEMS technology, Blue tooth Technology. The automation systems in the production are rapidly being enhanced and the demand for highly skilled instrumentation engineers is on the rise in the instrumentation systems always present. This course provides Instrumentation students with sound theoretical & practical training in the operation and design of electronic instruments, Digital logic systems and computer based automatic process control & Instrumentation & automatic control system design etc. To meet the industrial requirements of future, students are also made to become well versed with personal computer applications in Instrumentation, Process Control Systems Design, DSP Architecture & Design, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers System Design & Experimentation and Industrial Electronics & Applications.

M.TECH

EIC (Instrumentation & Control)

The M. Tech. is of four-semester duration. First and second semesters are entirely coursework oriented. Third and fourth semester involves research and thesis work.
